Nigeria's distinctive 10×10 game

Nigerian draughts 100rules and training

Our frozen nigerian100-v1 contract models the Nigerian rules family as its own game, not an alias of international draughts. Its board uses mirrored playable-square parity and a red long diagonal.

Board
10×10 · 50 playable squares
Pieces
20 per player
First move
Randomised: yellow or red
1

Men and kings

Men move forward and capture both ways. Kings are flying, and promotion occurs after the complete turn.

2

Mandatory capture without a maximum

Capturing is mandatory, but the player may choose any complete sequence; taking the maximum is not required.

3

Captured pieces remain blockers

During a multiple capture, taken pieces remain on the board until the turn ends and cannot be captured twice.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Nigerian board different?

It is 10×10 but uses the opposite playable-square parity to international draughts; the long diagonal is red.

Are Nigerian games rated?

Under the current v1 contract, games and tournaments are unrated.
